Shigeki
Kawahara
Born in Albany,
New York, raised in Japan, Shigeki began playing piano at the
age of three. In 1972 he became fascinated listening to the
rich, jazzy arrangements of Quincy Jones (“Smackwater Jack”).
Other idols include Joe Sample and Herbie Hancock.
Shigeki produces
his own tunes with layers of rich sound and
arrangements. His CDs have sold in America, Switzerland,
Brazil, Germany, . . . You can find him playing
in Bangkok, Manila,
Jakarta, Rabat (Morocco), and maybe in a piano bar near
you.
